"I bought this cookbook over a year ago when I was trying to find a way to use more variety while preparing healthier foods for my family. I use it almost daily--I love how the foods are categorized by season, as we always try to use the freshest things we can. I also enjoyed how the author notes little useful tidbits under many of the recipes e.g. "By far our family's favorite" "Great Party Dish, very impressive" etc. We have liked all the ones marked "Jones Family Favorite!" There are so many recipes for making things from scratch that I've always wondered how to make--like graham crackers and corn tortillas. And one of the most useful tools is the grain index at the beginning, telling about all the different grains, and how to use them, cooked or raw. I have discovered short grain brown rice, millet, and quinoa through this cookbook. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a healthier or more flavorful life."
